Whether new to logistics management or already working in the field, our advanced transport and logistics courses could help you take that next big step.  this exclusive Level 4 Diploma in Logistics Management is delivered over a series of eight modules, each concluding with an online assessment for submission to your assigned tutor:

Module 1. Introduction to Logistics Management

Module 2. Logistics Strategy & Operations

The second module turns attention to the strategic role of logistics, along with the most important decisions that must be made in the formulation of an effective logistics strategy.  Candidates study the various different types of decisions – strategic, tactical and operational – along with the functions and objectives of logistics audits.

Module 3. Procurement & Manufacturing Strategies

A detailed breakdown of the procurement cycle is presented in module three, in which candidates consider the aims and importance of strategic procurement.  The differences between purchasing and procurement are also discussed, along with how to select appropriate suppliers, guidelines for monitoring supplier performance and the potential benefits of single sourcing.

Module 4. Transport Management

Module four brings transport management into discussion, in which candidates consider the advantages and disadvantages of various different modes of transportation.  The potential benefits of working with third-party transportation providers are discussed, along with several different types of intermodal transport and important cost considerations.

Module 6. Warehousing and Material Handling

The fundamentals of warehouse management are presented and discussed in module six, which also outlines the importance of strategic material handling.  The advantages and disadvantages of various different types of warehouses are discussed, along with the importance of an effective warehouse layout, key warehouse ownership considerations and an introduction to packaging.
